Infused Water-Detox

The great thing about starting a new weight loss journey or even a journey to having a healthier body, is being able to detoxify your body.  Giving your body a really good detox allows your body to rid itself of different toxins that can cause harm to your body, and it also allows your body to have a moment to rest from the things we put into it. There are so many different products out there that are designed to detoxify your body, and some of their prices can be quit expensive at times.  

I personally wanted to take some time to detox my body after the holidays and my birthday, so I started to dig around online to see if I can find natural ways to achieve this.  I came across a website that gave awesome simple recipes to create detox water using fruit, vegetables, and natural herbs you can find right in your local grocery store.  I will be beginning this detox journey today and I do hope you are able to join this journey with me as well.

I plan on going a full 14 days without drinking any juice, sodas, alcohol, etc.  Nothing but detox water to drink on throughout the day.  Below I have attached a couple of simple recipes and information about the benefits of Infused Water I found on   Feel free to leave comments below on different recipes you have tried and how effective they have been for you.  I look forward to hearing from you all!  


What Are The Benefits of Infused Water?  

Besides tasting great and having zero calories, a water detox has many additional health benefits, including:

Trying out this recipe is a most certainly cost effective compared to the money we spend on drinks that are filled with empty calories. 

Day Spa Mango Ginger Water

If you are wanting to boost your metabolism drinking mango and ginger water together is a great way to start! Ginger is known to destroy ovarian cancer cells, and it can also lower levels of colon inflammation and inflammation of the intestines, thereby helping to reduce the risk of colon cancer according to Natural Society.  It also can help with headaches, migraines, coughs, colds, nasal congestion, toothaches, swelling and pain.  How awesome is that! 

Mangos not only boost metabolism, they also aid in digestion, boost your memory and guess what, they also can increase your sex drive!  Hey Now!  So if you looking to spice some things up with your partner get you a couple of mangos and let us know what happened in the comments section jk lol! 

Mangoes are my number one fruit of choice, and not because they taste amazing, but it is also great for your health.  I was blown away after doing some research online on how many amazing benefits they have.  According to Medical News Today, many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like mangoes decreases the risk of obesity and overall mortality, diabetes, heart disease and promotes a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, overall lower weight.

Get Started: 

To peel the ginger use the back of a spoon or a vegetable peeler, just peel the part that you will be using. Using a sharp knife slice ginger into 3-4 coin sized slices. You want them about the size and thickness of the coin.  

-Drop into your pitcher and add in the mango. 

-Top with 3 cups of ice and then add with water.(the ice is important, it holds down the ginger and mango to help infuse the water) 

-Place in your fridge for 1-3 hours before serving.  

-When serving add a couple frozen mango chunks in a pretty glass for ice cubes. 

This will keep in the fridge for 24 hours.

How did Tiffany like it? 

I must admit, I actually did like it and I am about half way through with the container at lunch time.  I actually love it.  I added apples, cucumbers, and lemon to mine. I pilled my lemon because I was afraid it would have a bitter taste.  For the most part, I just taste the lemon.  It really is great over ice, and does not taste like regular tap or bottled water. It is easy to get down, and an easier way to detox.  The next one I am going to make is going to have limes in it. I can't wait to see how that one taste!
